Friday I came out to the island. I had a heavy bag with some laundry, so that didn't help but to irritate the body a bit. I was definitely still achy and in pain in my hips. The weather went off in the evening and my knees especially were feeling it, took me a while to finally fall asleep. I had also put half a lidocaine patch on the back of my right shoulder as it was killing me. It was a little touch and go so didn't get a "good nights sleep" as I was a zombie when I woke up on Saturday.
Yesterday I couldn't decide whether to go to the pool or not, but eventually did in the afternoon. Thanks to my mother driving me, as I had no capacity for driving at that moment! I was in the pool for about 25 minutes, did my leg exercises and walking back and forth and then side to side. I am still cutting out the squats as I think that might have been irritating by hips, but not sure. My right hip was NOT happy in the least when I got out of the pool, and I made sure to ice when I got home, which definitely helped.
In the evening we went to my brothers house for my nephew's birthday. I took it easy and was still just so tired. When we got home last night I went straight to bed and was just watching telly. All of a sudden the groin area on both my left and right sides started a stabbing pain, first on the left, then the right. I was crying from the pain it was so bad. My mother came in and then got me some ice packs and that seemed to calm it down. It was the strangest thing, totally out of nowhere. Eventually I fell asleep and slept relatively well.
I think I am going to pass on the pool today though. I am not sure if that is what triggered that groin pain, so will have to ask my PT guys tomorrow. I am also pretty achy all over. Unfortunately I think he is away so it will just be the new understudy. I don't think she has enough experience with this. I see Dr. Kelly in two weeks and right now I am ready to yell at him. It's been almost 6 months and I don't feel that much better, on my right side. I hope he has some better ideas, and not including surgery, because I know I don't have the strength for that with either leg at the moment.
I am sorry to say it but I'm having a hard time keeping the faith at the moment. Hopefully we'll come up with a resolution or plan of attack soon and it will work. I guess it doesn't help that my right index finger has been barely usable for the last two weeks and my jaw/mouth pain has been non-stop. I would love to hop on a plane and disappear, but as we know, running away from problems or displacing them never helped anyone.
from diagnosis through surgery for FAI, labral tear, psoas release, as well as fibromyalgia and EDS (ehlers danlos / hypermobility syndrome) - and not lets forget the bad hands/wrists! Additional information regarding dealing with a peri-rectal abscess which then turned into a fistula. Currently I'm trying to sort out my neck and upper back as I have been diagnosed with stenosis, and herniated and bulging discs in my cervical spine.

Pool time
I made it to the pool yesterday to my own surprise. It was so cold out that I was very tempted to just go home. I went to the "aqua therapy" pool on 34th that my gym has. It's small, but the brilliant thing is it's 90', perfect for my fibro and yesterday after work it was EMPTY! Completely empty! A beautiful thing. I was in for about 25 minutes and had the whole place to myself. And the lifeguard said that it is usually quiet on Thursdays, so I will definitely be making that a habit.
I felt pretty good for the most part, except when I turned my right hip popped, but I think that was more the IT band than anything else. I was extremely sore for a while last night right in the joint on my right hip but then it thankfully went away. Left is still so-so and I'm still a little limpy.

Brief relief
Was still pretty achy and in pain when I woke up today, but slightly better (thankfully) than yesterday. I made it in and though it's freezing out there, at least the sky is clear and no moisture or low pressure around.
It's also my chiropractor day and thank G-d for that. The masseuse I had today is one of, if not, my favourite. He just touches my back and can tell what is going on. He asked if I've been stressed lately. HA HA! That was funny. I said, well, you could call it that. Between the pain in the body, hips, and my mouth I'm about to jump off a high floor. I guess that's stressful, no? Well, he sure worked his magic. I felt better from then (about 1pm) till now, so almost 5 hours with less pain. Heck, I'll take what I can get!
And since I've been bad and didn't go to PT yesterday, I am making myself go to the pool. Today I will try the one in midtown though as it's heated and meant for gimp's to exercise in. :-)
Seeing Dr. Kelly in 2 weeks and I'm not sure he'll be happy with my lack of progress. Then again, perhaps he'll think for me I am progressing. I just don't feel it that much. We shall see what he decides. I know my PT said that insurance is starting to clamp down on my visits, must sort that out as well. My major frustration with insurance is they expect EVERYONE to react the same, even though EVERYONE has a different body. The people that need to make these decisions are not the ones that do, that's for sure.

Well...
I did change my appointment to earlier, but when I left to grab some food before, I barely made it down the block. My left hip, in the front, is going nuts at present and I was gimping down the street. So I am a wimp and bailed - cancelled my appointment and am back home now.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day. :-)

Home bound
Today I stayed home from work as I was in too much pain this morning. My whole right side was just flipping out. The weather was bad yesterday and add the lack of sleep and stress, it's the "magic" combination for a flare-up.
I actually went back to sleep and slept till about 11.30! Guess my body really needed it.
I did go to the pool yesterday, and it was good. I stayed in for a little longer, almost 30 minutes this time. At one point my right hip started to hurt whilst I was in the pool but then it went away so I just kept on plugging along. Last night when I was in bed watching telly my left hip started a stabbing sort of pain right in the joint. Such fun! But I finally did fall asleep, sans drink or my sleeping pill, so that was an accomplishment.
I am meant to go to PT later, but am going to see if I can go in earlier as I don't really feel like going at all, so if I have to wait till 6 I can't see it happening. We'll see if they can accommodate me.
